Do you think Triton is enough or should a new Mare Nostrum - the disbanded Italian search and rescue operation - be put in place?
First and foremost we need a search and a rescue operation with a base in the Mediterranean. A humanitarian project which also includes an admission plan, with centres or bases in countries close to Libya to receive and support immigrants who are in danger.
Mare Nostrum really exploded the number of people who are trying to cross the central Mediterranean route.
