Anabela Ventura is a researcher, writer and eternally fascinated by the relationship between brain and behaviour. In 2009 she left Portugal with 3 suitcases and a dog and her heart set on a Master's in Human Development in Canada. There she managed to combine consciousness and life span studies with political activism, advocating for affordable education, human rights of international students and gender equality.
Before that, she was a journalist with an inclination for Women's Studies. Being away from Europe made her realize the importance of the positive things it has, and think about possible ways to turn around the not so positive ones.
All that thinking has a lot to do with coming together and Europeans can most certainly do that. Debating these issues here at OneEurope is a very good way to start!
