Over the last five years, Ana has lived in her native Portugal, Italy and Belgium. Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences and a Master of Arts in European Studies, she recently finished a traineeship in the Communication Department at the European Economic and Social Committee.

Besides Portuguese, Ana is also fluent in English and Dutch, is trying to improve her good command of French and has a basic knowledge of Italian.

About her motivation for working on the project, Ana says:

"As a convicted European, I want to contribute towards a more united and open EU, one which takes public perceptions into account and sees the youth as part of the solution instead of a burden."

She is particularly interested in topics such as; public and media perceptions of the EU, cultural policy, European identity, civil society’s input on EU policy-making, youth rights and (young) voter turnout.

Outside OneEurope, she loves to travel and is an avid reader of crime thrillers and fantasy books, with Jo Nesbø and George R.R. Martin (whom she has met!) as her go-to authors. She stays true to her enthusiasm for online platforms and meaningful discussions by being a member of Westeros/A Forum of Ice and Fire, dedicated to Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series.

Favourite quote: “Action is character. If we never did anything, we wouldn’t be anybody”. (from the 2009 movie An Education)
