Description: The United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) is organizing a series of workshops and short courses within the framework of the UNICRI Journalism and Public Information Programme, a unique international programme tailored for journalists, public information professionals and students seeking a career in the world of information. The programme aims at deepening knowledge of emerging security threats.

The first two activities will take place in March 2014 at the United Nations Campus in Turin, Italy:

Cyber Threats Workshop 21, 22, 23 March 2014 (course information)

Reporting and Communicating on Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Risks 24, 25, 26 March 2014 (course information)

Eligibility: Candidates must meet the following requirements:

Professional experience or academic background in the fields of journalism, media, institutional or corporate communication.

Hold at least a three-year university degree issued by an internationally recognized university in one of the aforementioned subjects (or equivalent work experience of 5 years in the area of communication).

Be proficient in English (both spoken and written).

Current students and young professionals that do not exactly fulfill all the aforementioned requirements may also be considered by the Scientific Committee.

Costs: The tuition fee for one course is €450 and must be paid upon confirmation of acceptance. Tuition fees are non-refundable.

Participants will bear the expenses related to travel, food and board.
