There was pretty much debate on same-sex marriage in 2013: despite numerous protests in the society France recognised it legally. At the same time croatians said a decisive "NO" to the legalization of same-sex unions at the referendum in November. Russia went event further and in June 2013 banned so-called "gay propaganda", which resulted in openly expressed hatred and discrimination of homosexuals in Russian society.

The infographic shows which European countries legally recognise same-sex marriages and civil unions. We hope that in 2014 other countries will join this list and provide safe and equal conditions for homosexuals.
