Much of the waste we throw away can be recycled.
This is not just a central message from the European Environmental Agency, but a generally accepted truth.
The map here is an illustration of various European countries' recycling rates. It is - as is generally the case when dealing with recycling statistics - open to interpretation when it comes to the definition of what counts as recycling.
It does, however, give an overview of how Europe is doing in regards to recycling.
