Travel times between Scandinavia and the rest of Europe will be cut by 50%!

The Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link is an 18 km tunnel connecting the German island of Fehmarn with the Danish island of Lolland.

The ferry transit which took 45 mins will take car drivers only 10 mins, and train passengers only 7 mins!

While all other islands between Germany and Sweden are already connected, Fehmarn-Lolland is the missing link. The Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link therefore will provide a fast route from Germany to Denmark, Sweden and Norway.

As a result a train journey from Hamburg to Copenhagen will be reduced from 4.5 to 3 hrs, and the travel times all over Europe to Scandinavia, and vice versa, will be significantly reduced.
